Mila Baby Tracker (“Mila,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a parent-operated app for baby care tracking, family sharing, reminders, exports, sleep and routine support, and optional monitoring features. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use Mila and the choices you have.

Mila is not a medical device. Mila does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or prevent any disease or medical condition. For medical concerns, contact a qualified clinician or emergency services.

1. Quick summary

• Core care tracking can be used locally on your device.
• Cloud-based or shared features are optional and may require an account or sign-in.
• When you enable cloud-based or shared features, the information needed for those features may be stored and processed by Mila and our service providers.
• We may use privacy-protective aggregated or de-identified information to understand usage, improve reliability, evaluate model or recommendation quality, and improve Mila.
• An optional research program, off by default, lets you contribute pseudonymized care records used to train and evaluate Mila’s care-timing models. Core features never require participation.
• We do not sell personal information.
• As of the effective date of this policy, Mila is free and does not include in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads, third-party tracking, data broker sharing, or baby care content used for advertising.
• We do not use IP geolocation or location profiling.
• Camera, microphone, monitoring, family sharing, exports, and external sharing are optional.
• You can export or delete app data using the controls available in the app, subject to technical, legal, backup, security, and retention limitations described below.

2. Information we may process

Depending on which features you use, Mila may process the following categories of information.

Information you provide

This may include:

• parent or caregiver account information, such as name, email address, sign-in identifiers, and role;
• child profile information, such as name or nickname, birth date, due date, feeding preferences, and optional photo;
• care records, such as feeding, sleep, diaper, notes, growth, routines, reminders, development observations, and other entries you choose to create;
• family sharing information, such as family name, invitations, caregiver roles, device access, and sharing settings;
• support messages, screenshots, or other information you choose to send us.

Information processed automatically

This may include:

• app, device, and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Mila;
• identifiers needed for account sign-in, sync, notifications, access control, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, or service reliability;
• records that you accepted the Terms of Service, consented to the shared-care data processing described in this Privacy Policy, or joined or left the optional model research program, including the document versions, time, app version, language, and associated internal user and device identifiers;
• usage information about app features, only where configured and permitted;
• aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise privacy-protective information derived from app use, synced records, diagnostics, or model/recommendation behavior.

Technical and diagnostic information

Mila may process technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app. This can include app version, device and operating system details, crash and app-hang diagnostics, request route, request status, request timing, broad operational metrics, security and audit records, sync/export/monitor operation categories, and support troubleshooting information.

Crash and app-hang diagnostics are configured to avoid sending parent, child, family, care-record, screenshot, screen-replay, request-body, and broad network-breadcrumb content. Backend operational logs and metrics are intended to measure reliability, request health, security, and abuse prevention without storing raw baby notes, raw care payloads, video, audio, clips, thumbnails, tokens, or private IDs as analytics.

Standard network infrastructure may process connection information needed to deliver and secure requests, but Mila does not use IP addresses for geolocation, location profiling, advertising, or cross-app tracking.

Monitoring and passive features

If you enable monitoring or passive observation features, Mila may process live camera, microphone, motion, audio, or related observation data to provide those features. Video and audio are not recorded by default unless you choose a feature or setting that records, saves, shares, or exports them.

Monitoring features are intended to help parents remember and summarize care patterns. They are not medical, safety, or emergency monitoring features.

Apple platform processing

As of the effective date of this policy, Mila is free and does not include in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads, or third-party tracking. Apple may process information when you install Mila from the App Store, use Sign in with Apple, receive Apple push notifications, manage device permissions, or use system sharing features. Apple processes that information under Apple’s own privacy terms and platform rules.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• provide app functionality, including care tracking, reminders, routines, family sharing, sync, monitoring, exports, and support;
• store and sync shared-family information when you enable cloud-based or shared features;
• personalize the app experience based on the information you choose to enter or sync;
• provide and improve recommendations, summaries, reminders, model outputs, and other care-support features for you and your family;
• keep the service secure and reliable;
• troubleshoot bugs, crashes, account issues, sync problems, recommendation errors, and model-quality issues;
• create aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise privacy-protective information for internal reliability measurement, product quality, recommendation/model evaluation, research, and product improvement;
• operate the optional model research program described in section 8 for participants who opt in;
• respond to support, privacy, export, or deletion requests;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

We do not use baby care content for advertising, cross-app tracking, data broker sharing, or location profiling.

4. Local storage and cloud features

Mila is designed so core care tracking can work locally on your device. Some features, such as family sharing, cross-device sync, remote access, server-generated exports, notifications, support, or monitoring-related services, may require information to be sent to Mila’s service providers or backend systems.

When you enable cloud-based or shared features, you choose to share the information needed for those features with Mila. We may store and process that information to provide the feature, keep the shared care record available to authorized caregivers, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve Mila as described in this policy.

You control whether to enable optional features such as family sharing, monitoring, exports, and external sharing. Disabling an optional feature may limit or stop the related functionality.

Local data may also be included in your device backups depending on your device and operating system settings.

5. Aggregated and de-identified information

We may create and use aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise privacy-protective information for internal reliability measurement, product quality, recommendation/model evaluation, research, and product improvement.

For example, this may include broad usage metrics, sync reliability categories, feature adoption trends, coarse prediction-error ranges, model-version performance summaries, and other information designed not to identify a specific child, parent, caregiver, family, or household.

We do not sell this information, do not use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, data broker sharing, or location profiling, and do not attempt to re-identify people or families from aggregated or de-identified information. If information can reasonably identify a person, family, child, or household, we treat it as personal information under this policy.

The optional model research program described in section 8 is a separate, opt-in channel and is not covered by this section.

6. How we share information

We may share information in the following limited ways:

• With people you authorize: such as family members, caregivers, or viewers you invite or approve.
• With service providers: such as hosting, storage, authentication, diagnostics, notifications, email, support, security, and infrastructure providers that help us operate Mila.
• With platform providers: such as Apple, when you install the app, use Sign in with Apple, receive Apple push notifications, manage device permissions, or use system sharing.
• With external services you choose: such as when you export data, share a report, or send an AI-ready summary to a model or service you trust.
• For legal, safety, or security reasons: when required by law, to protect rights, prevent abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
• Business transfers: if Mila is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell personal information.

7. External analysis and AI sharing

Mila does not automatically send baby care records to OpenAI, Anthropic, or other hosted AI services for analysis. If Mila offers an export, report, care summary, or AI-ready package, it is created only when you choose to create, review, and share it.

Where offered, prediction and care-support features may be computed on Mila’s own servers using care records you have already chosen to sync through cloud-based or shared features. That processing is performed by Mila and the infrastructure service providers described in section 6, not by third-party AI services, and is used only to provide those features for you and your family. Local-only tracking does not send care records to Mila.

If you share information with another app, AI model, clinician, caregiver, or third-party service, that recipient’s privacy policy and terms apply to their use of the information.

8. Optional model research program

If your version of Mila offers it, you may choose to contribute a pseudonymized copy of structured care records — such as feeding and sleep timing, durations, and related structured entries — so we can evaluate, calibrate, and train Mila’s care-timing models.

• Participation is optional, off by default, and never required to use Mila. Every feature works the same if you do not participate.
• Contributed records are pseudonymized and limited to a defined structured schema. Names, notes and free text, photos, video, audio, precise location, and device identifiers are not contributed.
• Contributed records are stored separately from Mila’s production systems with separate access controls, and are used to evaluate, calibrate, and train care-timing models. They are not used for advertising and are never sold.
• Models and population parameters trained on contributed records are used to improve predictions for all families using Mila, not only yours. These trained parameters are versioned artifacts and do not contain your records.
• The consent screen states the retention period that applies to contributed records before you agree.
• You can withdraw in the app at any time. Withdrawal stops future contribution and deletes your stored contributed records where technically and legally feasible, as described in the retention section below. Models that were already trained cannot be reversed to remove a single contribution; withdrawal prevents your records from being used in future training.
• We record your research participation choice together with the document versions, time, app version, and language, in the same way as other consent records.

Mila also adapts its predictions to your own child on your device, using your own records. That is part of how the app works, it happens locally, and it does not require participation in this program.

Contributed care records describe the care of your child and are provided by you as the parent or caregiver. Only contribute records you have the authority to share.

9. Your choices, controls, and requests

Depending on the features available in your version of Mila, you may be able to:

• use core tracking locally;
• enable or disable family sharing or sync;
• invite, remove, or revoke caregivers and devices;
• grant or revoke app permissions such as notifications, camera, microphone, local network, and photos;
• export selected data;
• delete local app data;
• request deletion of shared or account-related data;
• join or leave the optional model research program where offered;
• stop using optional monitoring or external sharing features.

You may also contact us to request access to, export of, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with Mila. We may need to verify your identity, confirm your family role, or ask for enough information to find the relevant account, family, device, export, or support record.

Some controls and requests may be limited by your role in a shared family, by device state, by offline devices, by records already shared with people or services you chose, by backup and disaster-recovery timing, or by legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, safety, and security requirements.

10. Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Mila, maintain security and reliability, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. This may include retaining versioned policy-acceptance records as evidence of the agreement and notice presented to an account.

When Mila generates an export on the backend, its status and download are available for 24 hours. Access ends immediately after that period, and bounded automated cleanup then deletes the stored export record, including its payload and associated artifact details; Mila keeps only limited audit and aggregate operational records without the exported care content.

When you delete data or request deletion, we delete or de-identify active records where technically and legally feasible. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, security logs, audit records, offline devices, or records that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Backups are used for disaster recovery and are not used to continue ordinary processing of deleted information.

Aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify a person, family, child, or household may be retained and used for the purposes described in this policy.

Records contributed to the optional model research program are kept for the retention period stated on the research consent screen. If you withdraw, we stop future contribution and delete your contributed research records where technically and legally feasible, subject to the same backup and legal limits described above. Models and parameters already trained before your withdrawal remain in use; they are versioned artifacts that do not contain your records, and deleting a contributed record does not remove its past influence on a trained model.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no app, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, Apple account, app account, invited caregivers, and any exports or reports you choose to share.

12. Children’s privacy

Mila is intended for parents and caregivers, not for direct use by children. Mila does not create child accounts, does not knowingly collect information directly from children, and does not target advertising to children.

Parents and caregivers control the child profile and care records they choose to create, sync, export, share, or delete.

Records contributed to the optional model research program describe child care, are provided only by a parent or caregiver, and are pseudonymized before research use.

13. International processing

Your information may be processed in the country where you live and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where required or appropriate.

For privacy, export, deletion, or support requests, email Mila support from the support page. Please avoid sending sensitive baby care notes, monitor screenshots, passwords, invite QR codes, full exported care logs, or full food or reaction exports unless we specifically ask for them.
